Beat the budget with Stamp Duty paid on new homes in Daresbury

Thursday, 17th September 2026

Buyers in Daresbury have the chance to save on Stamp Duty thanks to Castle Green Homes.

Stamp Duty Land Tax or more commonly known as Stamp Duty is a tax on property purchases, linked to the price paid. There have long been calls for the system to be overhauled, although Prime Minister Andy Burnham is reported to have ruled out making changes in the autumn Budget.

For those hoping for a tax-break, there’s the chance to make a move to a new home in Daresbury Stamp Duty free. Castle Green Homes is offering to cover the tax bill on selected new homes at Bridgewater View for a limited time only.

Castle Green Homes sales director Sian Pitt said: “There’s been lots of talk about potential changes to Stamp Duty but the reality is that even if the Government announces revisions to the system they’re unlikely to be immediate. Recognising that the tax can add a considerable amount to the cost of moving and to give buyers some clarity ahead of the budget, we’ll cover the tax on selected new homes in Daresbury. On our largest home at Bridgewater View the incentive has the power to save buyers £25,000.”

The four-bedroom, three-bathroom detached Cambridge, is available from £700,000. For a previous homeowner buying this as their sole residence, the Stamp Duty bill would be £25,000.

The Cambridge is a generously proportioned home designed very much with modern living in mind. It offers space, comfort and luxury in equal measure.

The lounge is at the front, with a feature bay window offering lots of natural light. It’s complemented by the open plan kitchen, dining and family room, with French doors opening out to the garden. The adjoining boot room, which leads through to the downstairs cloakroom, also offers direct access to the garden.

Upstairs, the primary bedroom suite, with dressing area and en-suite, spans from the front to the rear of the property. The luxury en-suite includes a bath, walk-in shower and twin sinks – perfect for busy couples.

The second bedroom, which sits above the integral double garage, also benefits from an en-suite. The other two bedrooms are served by the well-appointed family bathroom.

Current availability at Bridgewater View includes a choice of three and four-bedroom homes, with prices from £370,000.

As the development name suggests, there’s potential for lovely views out to the Bridgewater Canal and in future there’ll be a footpath leading to the canal.

The homes are in the catchment area for a number of schools including Daresbury Primary School, which is less than a mile away.

Easy access to the M56 makes Bridgewater View a great base for commuters.

Show homes at Bridgewater View, on Lower Hays, are open daily from 10am to 5pm. For more information see https://www.castlegreenhomes.uk/our-developments/north-west/bridgewater-view.
