Kitting out one of the teams in a charity cricket match, Castle Green Homes is demonstrating it’s a good sport.
The homebuilder has teamed up with Brymbo Cricket Club, who are hosting a match to raise money for Hope House Tŷ Gobaith children’s hospices.
The event on Sunday, August 30th will see a select North Wales side take on a squad of South African players from around the UK.
Castle Green Homes has sponsored the South African team kit, with players hoping to exact revenge after North Wales took the trophy in 2025.
Sales director Sian Pitt said: “Hope House & Ty Gobaith children’s hospices provide such an important service for families. We’re pleased to be stepping up to the wicket by sponsoring one of the teams competing in this fundraising match. Whatever the outcome on the pitch, the real winner will be the charity.”
The family friendly event is free to attend but there will be a raffle, barbecue and bar to enjoy alongside activities for children, and of course the sport.
Wrexham City radio will be presenting live from the event on the day.
Jason Underwood, Brymbo Cricket Club’s chairman, senior team captain and captain of the South African side, added: “This year, we’re delighted to be supporting Hope House & Ty Gobaith children’s hospices.
“They’re a charity that provides invaluable care and support to children living with life-threatening conditions and their families.
“On the pitch, there will be plenty to play for, and it promises to be another enjoyable and competitive match between two proud teams.”
Hospice fundraiser Bethan Young said: “What a great way to finish off the summer holidays!
“We’re looking forward to being there and enjoying the sportsmanship whilst sharing our mission to provide nursing care, respite stays and family support to those who need us locally.
“Good luck to both the teams and thank you so much for choosing Hope House Tŷ Gobaith.”
The hospice is looking for volunteers to help with selling raffle tickets and stewarding duties at the event. Contact Bethan Young on bethan.young@hopehouse.org.uk or call the fundraising office on (01691) 671671.
The match takes place from 12pm at Brymbo Cricket Club, College Hill, Tanyfron, Brymbo, Wrexham, LL11 5TF.
