Aspiring homeowners are invited to discover how they could step onto the housing ladder in Buckley at a special event hosted by Castle Green Homes.
It takes place at Hawthorn Meadows on Well Street on Saturday, June 6, and will see the homebuilder’s friendly and knowledgeable sales team joined by independent financial advisors.
Together they’ll be able to guide potential purchasers through their options including Help to Buy – Wales and Made to Measure Rewards including Deposit Boost or legal fees paid.
Castle Green Homes sales director Sian Pitt said: “Across our developments we plan the housing mix to cater for local need, which means providing homes for a variety of buyers and budgets. Some of our three-bedroom homes in Buckley are ideal for first time buyers. We also understand that the process of buying a home can seem a bit daunting and want to share our knowledge and experience to support those starting out. Come along to our first time buyer event and we’ll help make buying a new home as simple as possible.
“Before then we’d encourage would-be buyers to create a Willow account on our website, so that they can explore the house types and have fun testing out the options and upgrades available, including calculating how much different specification choices would cost. They can also use the mortgage calculator to help workout what their monthly mortgage repayments are likely to be without it showing up on their credit score.”
Current prices at Hawthorn Meadows start from £288,000 for a three-bedroom semi-detached Hartford.
As it’s priced under £300,000, it’s eligible to be purchased using Help to Buy – Wales. This means it could potentially be purchased with a 5% deposit and 75% mortgage. The remaining 20% is covered by an equity loan, which is interest free for five years.
The deadline for applications to Help to Buy Wales is September 30.
There are two other styles of three-bedroom homes available – the Oxford and Henley, both are detached properties, priced from £319,000.
“Raising a deposit can be tough – particularly if you’re trying to save while renting. It can be tempting to put down the minimum 5% deposit and then take out a 95% mortgage, but that usually means you’ll be charged a higher interest rate and so your monthly repayments would be more than if you made a larger downpayment,” Sian.
“The good news is you might not have to choose between waiting to buy or having higher mortgage repayments as we can offer a deposit boost. With our contribution boosting your savings you should then be able to access a better interest rate, reducing your monthly repayments.”
The first time buyer event at Hawthorn Meadows takes place on Saturday, June 6.
A show home at the development on Well Street is open daily from 10am to 5pm. For more information see here.
