New Grandparents move closer to family and into their dream home in Daresbury

The couple moved to Bridgewater View , a Castle Green Homes, development, in the summer.

Wendy explained: “We’d bought our last home in Great Sankey as a new build and had been there for about five years when my daughter bought the show home on phase one of Bridgewater View and was expecting our first grandchild. We wanted to be nearer to them so looked at moving and liked the Wiltshire show home and bought a home in the same style.

“We were about 30 minutes’ drive away from our daughter and grandchild before but now we’re about 20 seconds away. We moved because we don’t want to miss anything.”

The four-bedroom detached Wiltshire offers 1,713 sq ft of living space and is the most popular of all Castle Green’s designs across its developments.

“I didn’t have to say anything when we went to see the show home,” Wendy said.

Phil added: “We’re in our 50s and it’s our dream house – exactly as we’ve always wanted.”

A traditional looking home, the Wiltshire has a double height bay at the front, offering lots of natural light in the lounge and primary bedroom above it.

A combined kitchen, dining and family room, with adjoining utility and cloakroom, spans the rear of the property.

“I fell in love with the open plan layout and the main bedroom,” Wendy said.

While their previous property had four bedrooms, they weren’t as spacious as in their new home.

“Our new bedroom is a good size, with a lovely bay window that lets in lots of light, and has a dressing area along with en-suite,” Wendy explained.

Phil added: “It’s definitely a showstopper.”

They described the garage as massive – big enough to use as a home gym.

With the help of the sales team, they chose a range of extra and upgrades to replicate the show home look.

Phil said: “Our previous home was okay, but the finish was nothing compared with our new home.”

Wendy added: “The finish of everything here is fabulous.”

The couple found the Castle Green team friendly and supportive.

“They reassured us when the original buyer for our old house pulled out. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. We couldn’t fault anything. We just wanted to get moving,” Wendy recalled.

“It’s the best thing we ever did. I don’t think we’ll move again. I think this will be our last move.”

They have recommended Castle Green and Bridgewater View to friends.

Wendy said: “It’s very quiet and peaceful. I don’t think I’ve ever slept as well as the first night here.”

Phil added: “The dog loves living here too. The fields at the back are amazing for dog walking.”
