In the nearby community of Colwyn Bay, you’ll find primary and secondary schools that are recognised by Offstead for their excellence. This includes Ysgol Bod Alaw, Eirias High School, St Joseph’s R.C Primary School, Ysgol Nant Y Groes and more.

• Old Colwyn is home to a disused rail station that opened in 1884 and closed in 1952. In the modern day, the best way to get around the village is by bus, car or bike and there are good road links to several interesting places. For example, Colwyn Bay is a five minute drive and there are plenty of modern amenities and attractions to enjoy. Another place to visit is the village of Llysfaen, which looks straight out of a Welsh postcard. With a tight knit community and great transport links, Old Colwyn is a welcoming place to live.

• Old Colwyn has a great balance of traditional pubs, modern restaurants and quiet cafes to eat and drink in. Recommend venues include The Plough Inn, a pub serving up British fare. The Tamarind Thai Restaurant offers a glorious range of Thai curries and other meals to appreciate. You could also stop by Ken’s Kitchen for hearty Chinese food. If you’re out for lunch, there’s The Village Hub & Deli, which serves up a diverse range of sandwiches and paninis. There’s also the Greenfield Road Chippy to satisfy a craving for amazing fish and chips.

Find a spot to relax on Old Colwyn Beach, a wide stretch of golden beach that provides breathtaking views of the Irish Sea. Several water activities include swimming, windsurfing, canoeing and dolphin spotting. For land-based activities, take a trip to Welsh Mountain Zoo, home to a range of rare animals like brown bears and snow leopards. From there you can take a relaxing stroll through Eirias Park, which houses sports facilities and picnic spots.
